Title: Laguna II Standard audio - antenna problem.
Post by: Vernon Craig on 02 February, 2009, 01:50:09 PM
Guys,

Have a customer who has just bought one of these as a cheap run around (52 plate), he has a problem where by after driving about a mile from his house the radio reception drops considerably I have checked the back of the head unit and the connection if fine, but does anyone know of a joint in the cable else where in the car where the problem could be.

My thoughts are that it is a problem with the aerial in the rear screen, due to hatchback model and all.

If we cannot find the fault then we may have to install an internal windscreen mount aerial to bypass it.

Cheers all.

I had the same problem a year or so back with a customers car,  even a internal windscreen mount never really cured it.
(The safety glass seemed to hamper it)

I seem to remember an antenna amp on it ( Think it was in the tailgate ) and the glass connections was like a push stud affair.

He then sold the car and we never really got to the bottom of it.

You could always pop the interior light and stick a roof mount on it., Wouldn`t take too long to do.
